June is the month when Gandia comes back to life. The beach is already breathing, the sea is inviting and the days are long enough to do a lot — or to do nothing at all, which also counts.
This guide covers what’s really happening in Gandia in June. Every piece of information is sourced. Where we don’t have confirmed information for 2026, we clearly say so.
Beach sports
Along the 7.5 km of Gandia beach there are beach volleyball nets and mini football goals for free use. In the early morning, before the heat sets in, the promenade is the usual setting for runners and yoga classes with the sea as a backdrop.

By bike and on foot: routes along the coast and through nature
The promenade has a 4 km cycle lane that runs the full length of the beach from end to end. It is the starting point for longer routes inland or towards neighbouring beaches.
The Marjal de la Safor route is the most recommended option for families: around 20.5 km of virtually flat terrain combining the promenade with the inland wetland, featuring water birds and protected native vegetation.

Near Gandia, the Mondúver offers hiking routes with spectacular views of the coastline. And the Vía Verde del Serpis —the old Alcoy-Gandia railway line— is another option for those who prefer the inland countryside.

Where to eat fideuà and rice dishes in Gandia
Fideuà originated in the Grao de Gandia — it was created in the early 20th century when a ship’s cook replaced the rice with noodles because the captain was diabetic. Every year, the Muelle de los Borja hosts the International Fideuà Contest, one of the longest-running gastronomic events in Spain.
Markets: crafts and atmosphere at sunset
The nightly craft market on Gandia beach is one of those plans that ends up becoming part of the summer. It sets up next to the Club Nàutic, on the Paseo de Neptuno, every summer evening from 6pm to 11pm — around 40 stalls selling jewellery, crafts, clothing and gifts.
On Sundays there is a market at the Passeig Rosa dels Vents: during the summer season, from 5pm to 11pm.

Noche de San Juan: 23rd June
23rd June is the night when Gandia beach becomes something else entirely. Bonfires on the sand, a midnight swim, fireworks.
We have prepared a complete article with everything you need to know about the Noche de San Juan in Gandia: programme, rituals and how to make the most of it.
Culture and activities in the city
Gandia is not just about the beach. A few minutes from the promenade, the city has the Palau Ducal dels Borja — one of the jewels of Valencian Renaissance art —, museums and a cultural programme that comes alive in summer with its own events.
Tasta Gandia
Gandia’s food fair, usually held in the first fortnight of June on the Promenade. Local producers, rice dishes, fideuà and wine from the La Safor region.
The beach in June: blue flag and fewer crowds
June has one advantage that disappears in July and August: the beach belongs to those who are there. The water is already around 22ºC (historical data for the area), the blue flag is flying and the promenade hasn’t reached its limit.

With children in June
June is a great month to come with the family: the beach is already in great shape, water sports for children are active and the promenade is lively without the stress of the August peak.
