Fair and festivals of Gandía 2024
Gandia is preparing to experience a new edition of its patron saint festivities, which this year will take place from September 27 to 30. A party that takes place in the street and this year has more than 120 scheduled activities.

The theater of the Gandía 2024 festivities
Specifically, the Culture Department of the City Council has scheduled 41 theater performances, concentrated mainly on the Passeig de les Germanies. With quality companies that will be protagonists of the city’s backbone, while the Teatre Serrano will host three great companies such as Mayumaná with its ‘Impulso show’, the musical ‘Friends’ and the EIA circus company.

The musical offer of the Gandía 2024 festivities


Music will flood the city with 38 concerts ranging from the most traditional music to electronic music, including all kinds of musical styles on various stages in the city. Such as the Parc de la Festa, the María Enríquez institute, the Plaza del Mosset, the garden of the Casa de la Marquesa, the city squares or the Benieto industrial estate.
Cultural activities
On the other hand, cultural groups and entities will also participate in the programming. Specifically, there will be 16 entities that will present their work during the days of the Fair. At the same time, citizens and visitors will be able to enjoy 6 art exhibitions and other themes, among which the exhibition dedicated to the great Gandhian painter Alex Alemany, who died in 2021, stands out, with a posthumous retrospective view of his work and the exhibition for the 50th. birthday of Ulls de Mussol, to which are added 5 activities around the Tio de la Porra and where the Estellés Year will also be present with shows by Miquel Gil and Andreu Valor.
There are also 11 visits to our monumental heritage with a reduction in the entrance price, to facilitate access to citizens and with more possibility of schedules. On the other hand, and as one of the pillars of activities for this edition, nine activities have been planned around the celebration of the 550th birthday of the birth of Duchess Maria Enríquez.
The mayor has highlighted the importance of Enríquez, saying that she is “one of the most prominent women in our city, who represents a time of great cultural growth and support for the arts.” Therefore, as part of the celebrations and in collaboration with the Collegiate Headquarters, the relics of San Francisco de Borja will be brought. This has only happened once in more than fifty years and will be an important step in the preparation of the 2025 jubilee called by Pope Francis.
In addition, and within the commemoration events, on September 20 the premiere of the new anthem in honor of Sant Francesc de Borja will take place in an extraordinary concert with the performance of the Cathedral Choir of the Cathedral of Valencia and the UAM Orchestra Sant Francesc de Borja de Gandia. To which will be added guided visits to the Collegiate Church, the Palau Ducal and the Santa Clara Museum.
Amusement fair
As a novelty, the official website of the fair and festivals includes a section where you can explore the history of the festival since 1951 and the evolution of both the festival and the Tio de la Porra.
On the other hand, the Attractions Fair will be open from September 21 to October 13, with the reduced price days being September 26 and October 13, in addition to two days of inclusive fair without noise on the 4th and 12th. of October. Finally, it has been reported that the Plaza del Bocadito will be installed from September 20.
