Gandía breakwater
If your ideal is a more intimate walk, seeing boats and enjoying the sea nearby, but without getting wet, contemplating up close the fishermen, the navigation school, the rowing training, sailing… your place is the port breakwater.
At the Gandía breakwater, in addition to the breakwater structure itself, you can see a variety of things depending on the time of day and weather conditions:
- Sea views: From the breakwater, you will have panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea. You can watch the waves crashing against the breakwater and enjoy the seascape in general.
- Boats and vessels: If you are in a marina or near an area of maritime activity, you will likely see boats and vessels sailing near the breakwater. You can see sailboats, motorboats, yachts and other recreational vessels.
- Water Activities: Depending on the location of the jetty, you may see people practicing water activities such as surfing, paddleboarding, windsurfing, or even fishing near the jetty.
- Marine life: If you are lucky, you might spot some marine animals from the breakwater. This could include fish, seabirds, dolphins, and even some species of sea turtles, depending on the time of year and location.
- Sunset and sunrise: If you visit the breakwater during the afternoon or early morning, you can witness beautiful sunsets or sunrises over the sea. These moments are often especially impressive from the jetty, offering a clear view of the horizon.
If you get to the grao, you can also enjoy all the leisure and restaurant offerings (bars, restaurants, shops to take “that something from those days”), see the fish market sheds (where the fish auction takes place) and the emblematic Church of San Nicolás
